I've been seeing several of these beautiful vivid birds on my travels locally here in Cheshire, England and have always wanted to attempt painting one. I am in awe of nature's ability to provide such stunning patterns and colours in both flora and fauna. I used a mix of tools, palette knife, rigger brush, side of a credit card and filbert brushes to achieve the effect.
This Chinese ringneck pheasant was first brought to United Kingdom by the first British Ambassador to Peking in 1768!
