I have been lucky enough to visit Yorkshire a few times and this scene is reminiscent of my travels over towards Scarborough from my home in Cheshire.
This is an interpretation of a vibrant sky and vivid landscape made with Winsor & Newton oils and palette knives. Currently professionally framed - the painting itself is 40cm x 30cm. The total size including the frame is 60cm x 50cm. The dramatic nature of the sky contrasting with the verdant greens gives this a powerful impact on any wall.
As many of you will already know, Yorkshire is infamous for its culinary delights such as Wensleydale cheese, Parkin, Harrogate toffee and the Rhubarb Triangle ( A 9 square mile area of West Yorkshire – the three corners of the triangle roughly equate to Leeds, Bradford and Wakefield ref. theyorkshiresociety.org) and the well known accompaniment to any good Sunday Roast- the Yorkshire Pudding! It is also steeped in history, and full of beautiful waterfalls and castles. A beautiful region to explore when visiting the UK.
