Eilean Donan Castle, Scotland

Created exclusively with oils and palette knives. I aim to capture the eerie mood of the isolated scene through a monochrome colour scheme. This beautiful historic castle sits proudly on the island (or eilean in Scottish) of Donan in Western Scotland not far from the Isle of Skye and named after the Irish Saint, Bishop Donan who came to Scotland in 580 AD. Framed and mounted in a high quality black wooden frame.
